Pine Rivers Community Finance, through Community Bank Samford, has launched its March 2026 Grant Round, offering funding of up to $20,000 per organisation, reinforcing its support for community groups, programs, and initiatives across the Moreton Bay region.
Applications open Monday, 9 March 2026 and close Thursday, 2 April 2026.
“We recognise that community projects are essential to the well-being of our region, as they foster opportunities and create connections, thereby supporting our communities. The $20,000 funding per project enables us to support more complex initiatives that deliver deep, lasting benefits across the region,” said Pine Rivers Community Finance Board Chair Malcolm Frizzell.
The Community Grants program supports projects that deliver clear public benefit in social capital, community welfare, environmental sustainability, health, education and cultural development.
Since 2002, more than $2.7 million has been reinvested into local initiatives through grants, sponsorships, scholarships and community infrastructure.
That reinvestment is made possible through the community banking model, where the majority of profits generated by local customers are returned directly to the region.
Senior Branch Manager Mandy Bell has seen the impact of that model firsthand.
“As a local mum and someone who has lived and worked in this community for many years, I see every day how much our schools, emergency services, clubs and community groups mean to families,” Ms Bell said.
“What makes community banking different is that success isn’t measured solely in profit. It’s measured in impact. When a customer or local business chooses to bank with us, that decision strengthens the economic and social fabric of our region. The money stays here, works here, and supports the initiatives that keep our community thriving. That’s something our customers and shareholders can genuinely feel proud of.”
Who Can Apply?
Eligible organisations must:
• Operate with not-for-profit objectives
• Hold an active ABN
• Demonstrate a connection to the Moreton Bay region
• Show clear public benefit
• Have successfully acquitted any previous grants
Projects cannot be funded retrospectively.
