Through the Pine Rivers Community Finance Homelessness Grant Round, Community Bank Samford partnered with RizeUp Limited to deliver something many of us take for granted: a safe and comfortable home.
RizeUp has so far furnished three of the seven homes funded by this grant, providing stability and dignity to 11 people, including eight children, who are rebuilding after domestic and family violence in Moreton Bay.
For the children, it means being able to sleep soundly, feel safe to do their homework and settle into a space that is truly their own. For the parents, it lifts a financial and emotional burden, offering the chance to focus on rebuilding their lives, free from violence.
“Creating a new beginning starts with having the essentials in place,” said Nicolle Edwards, RizeUp CEO. “Thanks to Pine Rivers Community Finance through Community Bank Samford, families moving forward after violence have been able to walk into spaces that feel cared for — with beds made, kitchens stocked, toys ready to play with, and the warmth of community surrounding them.
It’s these touches that remind families they’re not alone, that they have a community walking beside them as they rebuild their lives.”
This grant funding was part of a targeted initiative by Pine Rivers Community Finance to tackle homelessness in the region. The remaining four homes will be furnished by June 2026, extending support to more families who have experienced crisis.

RizeUp partners with frontline services to ensure victim-survivors have what they need to start again safely and with confidence. Through its practical, community-driven approach, the organisation has helped thousands rebuild their lives across Queensland — and now, with this grant, that ripple of impact will reach even more families in the Moreton Bay region.
